1. Read https://thejobsort.com/agent and follow it.
2. If you can add a remote MCP server with sign-in, ask me first, then add https://thejobsort.com/api/mcp. I'll sign in and approve it.
3. If you can't, pair instead. Use invitation your one-time invite. It works once, for 15 minutes. Show me the connection code and wait while I approve it in my dashboard.
4. Once connected, call get_briefing and follow it. If my workspace is new, start the setup.

If you can't make web requests or add connectors, tell me plainly and stop. Don't say you're connected until get_briefing has worked.

  3. Approve the connection

    Your agent shows a short code. Check it matches the one in your dashboard and press Approve. Then say Start TheJobSort and it takes it from there.

What does it cost?

It is free to start, with fair limits on how much you can do each hour. A paid plan lifts those limits and adds company research, contacts, agent routines, the map, document storage and more than one assistant, for A$14 a month (or a 3-month pass) in Australia, with local prices in the UK, US and Canada. TheJobSort runs no AI of its own, so you keep using the assistant and plan you already have.

Which assistants work with it?

Today: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and other assistants that support MCP, the open standard for connecting assistants to apps. The Claude app, ChatGPT and Gemini are coming soon. We list an assistant as ready only once we have set it up end to end ourselves.

Will it apply for jobs without asking me?

Never. It asks before anything is sent or submitted, and every yes covers one action only. You send every message yourself, and you can see everything it did.

Do I need to be good with computers?

No. With a chat app you paste one link and press Allow, and the page shows you exactly where to click. Assistants that run on your computer take a few more minutes. You can disconnect at any time.

Where is my information kept?

In your own private workspace that only you and the assistants you approve can open. It is never sold or used to train anyone's AI. You can download everything or delete your account whenever you like.

What does my assistant see?

Only what it needs for the job in front of it, through the tools you allowed. Postings, emails and notes are treated as information, never as instructions, so a sneaky job ad cannot take over your assistant.
